Enlight Media will build a giant film park in Shanghai's Pujiang Town, Minhang District, officials said at the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival.

Construction of China Film World will begin next year with an announced budget of 10 billion yuan (US$1.6 billion).

Officials from Enlight Media said a wide range of movie sets will be at the park and visitors will have a chance to learn more about Shaolin Temple martial arts.

More than 100 films and TV series will be shot in the park, including the 3D action film "The Shaolin Temple" and the adventure series "The Note of Ghoul."

The company will also cooperate with their counterparts in the US on a six-episode television series called "Legend of Zhen Huan" and a documentary film with French director Jacques Perrin.
